WEEK FEB. 15

CHORALE:

Objectives: Students will be able to identify and discuss different historical aspects and character of the African American Spiritual and it's evolution over time.

The students will be able to demonstrate some of characteristic sounds of the classical spiritual through their performance recording of the song We Shall Overcom

CAMERATA:

This week the students will refresh their knowledge of Carter's Lift Every Voice and sing and will record the both audio and video for presentation at the VBHMA Gala next week.

ORCHESTRA:

The students will identify 3 Black composers in classical and will discuss the unique aspects each composer is known for. Beethoven's ethnicity will be studied and discussed.
